Netflix Released 'Arrested Development' and 'BoJack Horseman' Weed Strains

To celebrate the release of its new Cheers-but-with-weed sitcom Disjointed, Netflix made a move into the cannabis industry and released ten different strains of weed inspired by some of its hit shows, Variety reports.

The streaming service partnered with West Hollywood-based dispensary Alternative Herbal Health Services to sell each of the strains—based on Orange Is the New Black, Arrested Development, BoJack Horseman, and more—to medical marijuana users at a pop-up shop last weekend. The signature strains all shared some choice characteristics with their namesakes, too.

According to the press release, the Arrested Development strain—called "Banana Stand Kush"—is reportedly ideal for a "big yellow joint;" "Poussey Riot," the strain named after a character from Orange Is the New Black, is said to be best smoked when "kicking it with somebody, talking, making mad stupid jokes;" and the BoJack strain, "Prickly Muffin," claims to make things "a little easier. But you gotta do it every day."

There were also strains for Netflix shows like Wet Hot American Summer, Grace and Frankie, Chelsea, Santa Clarita Diet, Lady Dynamite, and the MST3K reboot, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return. Netflix also released a trio of strains inspired by Disjointed, which premiered last Friday.

"Each strain was cultivated with the specific shows in mind, designed to complement each title based on their tone," Netflix said in a press release. "For example, sillier shows may be more indica dominant, while dramedies will be more sativa dominant to help the more powerful scenes resonate."

The weed strains were only for sale over the weekend and—because weed still isn't like, chill to buy according to federal law—aren't available for purchase through the mail. So if you want to indulge in "the Netflix collection" at this point, you'll have to track down some Grace and Frankie superfans in LA who stockpiled the stuff or something. Godspeed!
