Trump's Death Penalty Tweet, the GOP Tax Plan, and Living with HIV

On The VICE Guide to Right Now, VICE's new daily podcast, we delve into the biggest news of the day and give you a rundown of the stories we're reading, working on, and most fascinated with.

Today, we check in with Tonic as it wraps up the end of its Sex Week series to hear from some of the roughly 1.1 million Americans living with HIV. They told VICE living with the disease comes with plenty of stigma, but the challenges they face aren't much different than the day-to-day struggles everyone deals with. "I'm living with HIV, I'm not dying."

Then we look at the way President Trump responded to the NYC terror attack, calling for suspect Sayfullo Saipov to "get the death penalty" on Twitter. We talk about why his Tweet could pose real issues for Saipov's trial in civilian court and why experts believe it was everything ISIS wanted.

Finally, we'll go over everything you need to know about the GOP's new $1.15 trillion tax plan, which is the most extreme rewrite of the tax code in decades.

Give today's show a listen above and check back tomorrow for a new episode. You can catch The VICE Guide to Right Now Podcast on Acast, Google Play, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or wherever you get your podcasts.
