Michael Moore Is Bringing an Anti-Trump Show to Broadway

After taking aim at Donald Trump in the surprise film Michael Moore in TrumpLand, the polarizing filmmaker plans to skewer the President on Broadway in a new one-man show, Rolling Stone reports.

Moore will bring his show, The Terms of My Surrender, to Manhattan's Belasco Theatre, situated about ten blocks from Trump Tower. He'll preview the show in late July, and plans to open it to the paying public—who can go ahead and snag tickets now—on August 10.

Moore, who's called for Trump's arrest and credited him with kicking off "the extinction of human life on Earth," told the New York Times he'll be shooting to kill with Surrender. It's a scripted show that may undergo tweaks based on what happens in the news—part rant, part comedy, all Michael Moore. At best he hopes the play will leave Trump on his knees, ready to give up his role as the leader of the Free World.

"I think that discombobulation might be our most effective path to undoing his presidency," Moore told the Times. "I think people will find themselves laughing one minute and wanting to go look for some pitchforks and torches the next."

Though Moore's making his first foray into Broadway, he's got some experienced theater hands assisting him. Director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) and set designer David Rockwell (She Loves Me) have both won Tonys for their previous work on the stage. Other crew members have worked on big-name productions from The Book of Mormon to Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

"I've made my movies," Moore told the Times. "I've had two primetime TV series. I've had eight books on your best-seller lists. I've done a lot of things with the internet. But I haven't done this."
