The first trailer for the female-led Ocean's Eleven spinoff Ocean's 8 is here, and the thing is packed to the gills with stars.
The trailer centers on Sandra Bullock's character Debbie Ocean, whose brother Danny (George Clooney) took center stage in the earlier films. Like Danny in Ocean's Eleven, Debbie is just getting out of prison, and decides to use her newfound freedom to pull off a massive heist, which is apparently just how things work in her family.
This time around, she isn't robbing a casino, though—she's pulling off a $150 million jewel heist at the Met Gala in New York City. If we've learned anything from Steven Soderbergh's previous Ocean's trilogy, it's that no one can pull off a risky and complicated heist without a crack team of celebrities. And Ocean's 8 has got that covered.
The movie's cast list is completely stacked, featuring everyone from Rihanna to Anne Hathaway to Mindy Kaling to Helena Bonham Carter. Sarah Paulson made it in there, too, along with Cate Blanchett, who pops up as Bullock's Brad Pitt-style sidekick.
Though the trailer makes the movie feel a bit like a reboot, it takes place within the same universe as the Soderbergh trilogy, and Matt Damon's master pickpocket from the earlier films is returning for a cameo this time around. According to the trailer, James Cordon will make an appearance as well, for some inexplicable reason. And since Ocean's 8 takes place at the Met Gala, it's likely there will be plenty more celebrity cameos gracing the red carpet.
Hunger Games' Gary Ross is directing the film, with Steven Soderbergh on board as a producer. It's set to hit theaters June 8, 2018. Until then, watch Rihanna's tough-ass character convince Sandra Bullock that her name is 8-Ball in the trailer above.
