At an early age, Daniel Tammet was capable of performing high-level calculations in his head without being taught. Now, Tammet—who was diagnosed with Autism as a boy—has come to own his abilities as a savant, memorizing more than 22,000 decimals of Pi. He spoke to VICE about his struggle with his condition and cultivating a following as a published author.
