Watch This Heartwarming Exchange Between a Canadian Cop and a Stoner

This article originally appeared on VICE Canada.

Canada has a bit of a reputation for being associated with cannabis. Maybe it's British Columbian bud, or Seth Rogen, or the fact that, you know, Canada is about to fully legalize and regulate weed within the next year.

Even though it's not quite legal yet, if you have been to Toronto or Vancouver, you know that there are dispensaries selling cannabis all over the place. Yesterday, there was a gun scare/hostage situation (which turned out to be a totally false alarm) at a dispensary on King Street in Toronto, from which we received this rare blessing of a video showing a heartwarming exchange between a man who seems to enjoy partaking in cannabis use and a police officer.

As the Toronto cop, Allyson Douglas-Cook, informs a group of people on the scene outside the dispensary that it is safe inside, a guy in the crowd asks if he is allowed to go get a "20 sack" now. The cop, understandably, was barely able to hold back from laughing at his remark.

"Welcome to Toronto," the original poster of the video, Eric Mark Do, tweeted.

Given it's been a year of tension between cannabis users, dispensary owners, and Toronto police, it's nice to see that it's not all hard feelings.
