Jessie Sage was studying feminist theory and philosophy when she made her first foray into sex work. She started experimenting with camming, and then later independently produced porn, often with her husband. Sage said she wanted to see how people responded to women and different forms of sex work, and she found it surprising.
While porn can be an exploitative industry, Sage also found that many of her viewers preferred to look at and talk to women they could relate to online. Different body types and even pregnant women were often celebrated, and even sought, through search terms like BBW (Big Beautiful Women), which could denote a range of sizes and shapes.
On today's episode, Sage, who also co-hosts the podcast Peepshow, talks about how she sees her work through a feminist lens.
