During the 2016 election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly brought up Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server. Trump repeatedly painted Clinton as dishonest, seizing on her email habits while secretary for state as reckless, even treacherous.
So many people would have been surprised by a New York Times report Monday which claimed that several former and current White House aides had used personal devices to conduct official business, while at least six Trump advisers had used private email accounts.
According to the story, private emails were sent or received by former chief strategist Stephen Bannon, economic adviser Gary Cohn, aide Stephen Miller, and Reince Priebus, the former chief of staff.
