A speeding white van plowed into pedestrians walking down Barcelona's popular La Rambla boulevard, killing two, in what police are treating as a "terrorist attack."
The drivers of the van mowed down dozens of people before fleeing on foot, according to El Pais newspaper. El Pais, quoting unnamed police sources, reports that the perpetrators of the crash are currently holed up in a bar on Tallers Street, near La Rambla.
Two people were killed in the crash, according to local media reports. Police have described the incident as a "massive crash" and emergency services have warned people to stay away from the area, closing Metro and train stations in the vicinity of the incident.
